However, Iβm not too confident, as we have badly polluted the sea with mega plastic islands and such, and as yet done next to nothing about it
That's unfortunately true... We're reactive once the problem becomes big enough instead of being proactive from the very beginning.
I hope these companies succeed too because we're going to have more missions and objects in space than ever before now that costs are coming down. Might become even more problematic when space tourism becomes more usual.

We canβt even keep our own planet clean, much less space. This is why no one wants to visit.
