Fascinating! One of the worst things about airports is the spaghetti bowl of high-speed overpasses leading up to the terminal. Perhaps these eVTOLs would alleviate some of that? But... what would the regulatory situation look like? Will it be like the skies of Coruscant in Star Wars, with "lanes" and "streets" in the air? Either way, I look forward to my first ride in one.
I hate those trips to the airport. I live in Toronto and we have a train that takes you straight from downtown to the airport in 25 mins which is great.
As for the regulatory situation, that’s something that will need to be carefully thought out like the flying altitude, routes, and the maximum number of eVTOLs in the air at once. Moving in 3 dimensions is sooooo much more dangerous than moving in 2 (like cars on the road). I’ll keep an eye out on what happens with this and provide any updates in future editions!
Loved this episode. Thanks for doing this concept Fawzi
Knew only little about the subject. But didn’t realize how far it had moved into reality.
soooo excited about the possibilities / future of this mode.
They would make great next-generation helicopters.
Exactly!
